A 27-year-old Sheboygan woman passed out drunk in her car while trying to place an order in a McDonald’s drive-thru earlier this month, according to court documents filed this week.
Police officers summoned by employees found Stacy L. Erickson slumped over and snoring inside her 1991 Ford Escort, according to a criminal complaint. The incident occurred about 3:40 a.m. July 30 at the McDonald’s at 2425 S. Business Drive.
Officers’ initial attempts to rouse Erickson were unsuccessful, but she woke up after they turned off the car and tried again.
Erickson had to grab the car to steady herself as she got out, and she failed field sobriety tests.
Erickson is charged with misdemeanor third-offense drunken driving and faces up to a year in jail, if convicted. She is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Aug. 30.

Wild turkeys. Maybe wild and crazy turkeys
Wednesday morning, two turkeys stopped traffic along 5th Street in east Greeley, challenging the drivers and sometimes block-
ing the road as people drove to work.
In addition to stopping traffic, the turkeys are getting more bold. Recently, one east Greeley family reported a turkey knocking on their front door. They called animal control officers.
Greeley's animal control officers have been called out on turkeys before, although there's not much they can do about the big birds.
“They're wild animals,” said Sgt. Susie West. “We can call the Department of Wildlife, but other than chase them away, we can't do anything.”
At the DOW, Officer Brandon Muller said there are now thousands of turkeys along the South Platte and Poudre rivers in northeastern Colorado. “The turkey population has exploded over the last two years,” Muller said.
The turkeys that were blocking 5th Street off and on Wednesday were in front of Colorado Equipment, a John Deere dealership. Manager Daniel Lowe said the turkeys have been in the area about three months, since the Colorado Department of Transportation blocked the U.S. 85 bypass for construction work.
“We're not sure why they moved over here,” Lowe said, “But I've seen as many as six of them at a time.”
According to West, a couple of months ago, animal control officers received a call from an east Greeley resident who said a turkey was knocking on their front door.
“We found out the turkey must have seen his reflection in the door glass,” West said, “and thought it was another turkey and started pecking at it.”
Turkeys have never been known for their intelligence.

Jilted boyfriend bombarded ex with 2,000 calls a week
A jilted boyfriend repeatedly phoned his ex-girlfriend begging to be taken back – more than 2,000 times in a WEEK, a court heard.
Relentless Jason Annis, 27, bombarded his former lover with hundreds of calls and text messages after she dumped him for someone else.
During one eight-day period he then called her 1,046 times and sent more than 630 texts.
He also sent her more than 350 messages on Facebook.

The victim went to complain to police but while she was giving a statement he rang her 56 TIMES.
Annis, of Liskeard, Cornwall, pleaded guilty to harassment between June 18 and July 8 this year at Plymouth Magistrates Court.
He was given an 18-month community order, ordered to pay £85 costs and given a two-year restraining order to keep more than 100 metres from his victim.
District Judge Paul Farmer said the case was ”unique” because of the sheer number of calls and text messages.
He said: ”I have seen many cases of this nature before me but I cannot believe I have seen someone receive this amount of calls and texts.
”The sheer volume would cause anyone concern, quite frankly, about the state of your mind. In your relationship, there are clearly issues. You need help.”
The court heard Annis and the unnamed woman had a child together but their short-lived relationship broke down at the end of 2008.
They got back together again but had a fresh break-up and it was then that he started to harass his victim.
Stephen Walker, defending, said Annis had ”deep-seated problems” and asked him to consider a rehabilitation programme.
Annis was also ordered to attend a domestic abuse programme

Medicare pays for woman's penis pumps
MIAMI, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Two Florida penis pump purveyors allegedly bilked Medicare for phony claims, including for four pumps for a single female patient, officials said.
The Hialeah companies, Charlie RX and Happy Trips, together fraudulently billed Medicare $63,000 for vacuum-erection systems -- at $395 a piece -- that are supposed to help remedy male patients' impotence, the Miami Herald reported Tuesday.
The federal Medicare program paid the two companies $28,600, charges unsealed Monday in Miami federal court showed.
"That we should have caught," said Medicare spokesman Peter Ashkenaz of the payments for the woman's pumps.
Emilio Felipe Lopez, 47, president of Charlie RX, and Orlando Hernandez Estevez, 25, president of Happy Trips, in February were indicted on charges of healthcare fraud. FBI agents last week arrested the two, who authorities said were in hiding.
Lopez and Estevez are accused of stealing Medicare patients' numbers and doctors' identifications to submit close to $2 million in fraudulent bills to Medicare between October and February, the Herald reported.
The newspaper said Medicare pays bills quickly without first verifying them -- enabling Miami-Dade County's reputation as the nation's healthcare-fraud capital.
U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius last month said Medicare would end the "pay and chase" system, whereby federal law enforcement must rectify Medicare's billing mistakes after false claims are already paid.
Last year, medical-equipment businesses nationwide were paid $2.4 million after billing Medicare for penis pumps, with 90 percent of the payments made to Florida companies, the Herald said.

DONALD DUCK 'GROPED' MUM AT DISNEY WORLD
Mother-of-two April Magolon is suing Disney for more than £140,000 after claiming she fell victim to “his” unwanted attentions.
In her lawsuit Ms Magolon, 27, repeatedly refers to the character as being a man – but Disney sources said women are usually chosen to dress up as Donald Duck.
Ms Magolon says she still has nightmares after her encounter with the cartoon favourite.
She has filed a lawsuit in which she says the experience has caused her “flashbacks and cold sweats”.
She was at the theme park in Orlando, Florida, when she approached a worker dressed as Donald Duck. She was carrying one of her young children and wanted the character to sign her autograph book.
She claims Donald Duck groped her breasts and then made a gesture suggesting he knew he had been bad.
Ms Magolon, from Pennsylvania, says the experience ruined her holiday and claims she has since developed medical issues including insomnia and nausea and has been unable to work. According to her, Orange County police have received more than 24 complaints from visitors claiming they were also groped by Disney characters.
She says her case echoes that of a 13-year-old girl who said she was groped by a Tigger character.
In that case a Disney worker was cleared of indecent assault after his lawyer wore the Tigger costume in court to prove how hard it was to see.
A Disney spokesman said they will contest Ms Magolon’s claims in court.

Melodi Dushane is getting her 15 minutes of fame after a video of her McNuggets rampage was released on the Internet.CBS News reports the 25-year-old was arrested earlier this year for punching McDonald’s employees and smashing a drive-thru window when she was informed she couldn’t order chicken nuggets before 10:30 a.m. The fast-food restaurant’s footage of the incident was released Monday and has become a viral video overnight.
